The Village

Just off 1st Avenue NE and Edmonton Trail, The Village is where it all began for Airdrie.

The iconic water tower keeps watch over Airdrie's past, present and future.

With remodelled homes and heritage buildings, this historic community give's you a glimpse into Airdrie's history along with a shimmering look into its future.

An informal walk would lead you past many homes that were built in Airdrie’s infancy, including the home of the first doctor. The community has easy to access Edmonton Trail and Highway 2, making commuting to Calgary very easy.

There are three schools in the area, dubbed the tri-school area, including a secondary school with a French immersion program, a French elementary school (Ecole Edwards Elementary School) , and a French middle school (Ecole Airdrie Middle School) . There is also a small private school within walking distance of home.

The Village is home to Plainsmen Arena, which has Jensen Park in its own backyard. This park, named after one of Airdrie’s first settlers has a large green space that is turned into an outdoor skating rink every winter, and a good-sized play structure and swings.

A couple blocks down 1st Ave NE, Main Street is lined with unique local shops & services from barber shops to thrift shops.  Tower Lane Mall gives you tons of big box option including Safeway, Shoppers Drug Mart, Staples, Dollarama and much more!
