The Forest Heights Community Association is active within community and offers a local facility hall , that's available to rent, along with several programs and services.  Additional activities offered include hockey, baseball and skating. Bingo games are organized on a weekly basis and are enjoyed local residents.  The annual Stampede Breakfast is another major event hosted by the community association.

The neighbourhood also has several amenities including the Bow River pathways, Elliston Regional Park and the max Bell Arena, which is home to several sporting events and concerts.  For families in Forest Heights there are several choices for schools including Keeler School, Jack James High School, Ernest Morrow Jr High School and Forest Lawn High School .

The shopping area of 36 Street NE, which is the closet venue to Forest Heights, is home to Marlborough Mall, which offers a variety of shops, services and big box stores like Home Depot, Walmart and many more. There are also great restaurants nearby, and with all of these close by amenities you'll never have to stray far to find everything you need.  Just south of the neighbourhood is International Avenue on 17th Avenue, where you’ll find vast array of unique ethnic shops and restaurants like no other in Calgary.
