Taradale is located in the northeast region of Calgary. The community is bordered by:

- East: Stoney Trail

Taradale is home to a number of parks and recreational facilities
The neighborhood boasts several parks, including Taradale Park and Tarington Woods Park, where residents can enjoy walking paths, sports fields, playgrounds, and picnic areas.
The Taradale Community Association offers a variety of programs and amenities for residents. The community has two ponds that are surrounded by pathways that residents use for a leisurely walk, jogging and running. Taralake, in the northeast part of the neighbourhood, has beach volleyball courts.
Indoor enthusiasts will love the amazing Genesis Center, which is home to a local YMCA, indoor pool, basketball and badminton courts, soccer fields (indoor and outdoor) and a public library.
