The Beltline stretches from 14th St SW to the Elbow River, from 10th Avenue S to 17th Ave S, including all of Stampede Park. It is the amalgamation of two of Calgary’s oldest communities – Connaught and Victoria Park, which happened in 2003. The Beltline name comes from the old streetcar route that used to wind through the district linking 17th Avenue S to downtown.
Beltline is home to dozens of neighbourhood pubs, 100’s of dining options including everything from local burger joints to high end fine dining – and let’s not forget the shopping! Quaint boutique shops to big box brand name stores, you can find it all. You’ll have endless choices on hotspot areas like 1st Street Village, 4th Street in Mission & the ever buzzing 17th Avenue with over 400 shops & services on hand. The Beltline is also home to the Stampede Grounds where there’s events happening year round including everything from the world famous Calgary Stampede to taking in a Flames game at the Saddledome.
There’s plenty of choices when it comes to staying healthy when you live in The Beltline. Several yoga studios are within walking distance as well as the premier fitness centre in Western Canada, The Repsol Centre. You’ll find many people running, walking & biking along the Elbow River pathway as well. If you need a little downtime, there’s several parks in the area for you to kick back & relax.
