Martindale is dotted with several top outdoor recreational options within the community including Martindale Park, which is a great place for casual walks or going for a run.  In the winter,  the park maintains an ice skating rink.  In the summer, it transforms into a skateboard park.  The park is also home to the Martindale Community Association offers a variety of programs and events for residents.  The recreational highlight in Martindale is the amazing Genesis Center, which is home to a local YMCA, indoor pool, basketball and badminton courts, soccer fields (indoor and outdoor) and a public library.

The commute from Martindale is incredibly easy with several transit options and easy access to C-Train Stations at SB Martindale Station and Saddletowne Station.

There's a wide choice of schools within Martindale and in the surrounding communities. These include  Grant MacEwan, Rundle, John Paul II and St. Wilfred elementary schools. There are two K-9 schools including Crossing Park and Catholic school Blessed John XXIII. For students in grades 7 to 9, the options include Terry Fox and Bob Edwards junior high schools. You'll have a choice between several high schools, including Nelson Mandela High School, Lester B. Pearson, James Fowler and Bishop McNally.

Martindale is within walking distance of Saddletowne shopping where you can quickly grab groceries at Safeway, do some banking, shop with local retailers and grab some delicious ethnic food.  A short drive down Falconridge Blvd you'll find Castleridge Mall with Safeway and several shops and services.  McKnight Village is just across the road with more shops & services including Shoppers Drug Mart.
