Southview is located in Calgary’s eastern quadrant, almost directly across from the city’s downtown core.  Some of the homes in the area enjoy an unspoiled view of Downtown and the Rocky Mountains. As with many well-established communities in the area, Southview boasts lots of open green spaces and parks.  The community is also in close proximity to major landmarks like St. George Island, St. Patrick Island, Inglewood Wildlands and the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.

Despite its size, the Southview Community Association is active and supports its residents. The community has many events and works with the city of Calgary to plan bigger events throughout the year.  The association organizes a variety of events and it maintains an outdoor skating rink.

There are several schools in the area including Keeler School, Jack James High School, Ernest Morrow Jr High School and Forest Lawn High School.

Located just south of 17th Avenue, Southview is moments away from the famous International Ave which showcases an abundance of shops and restaurants owned by diverse ethnic groups, largely consisting of Asian markets, shops, and restaurants.
