The Southeast Region of Calgary is one of the city’s most diverse and fastest-developing areas, blending modern suburban living with access to nature, industry, and vibrant community life.
Stretching from the Bow River in the west to the city’s eastern limits, and from Glenmore Trail south to the southern boundary, Southeast Calgary is a dynamic region that appeals to a wide range of residents—from growing families to professionals and outdoor enthusiasts.

Nature and recreation are seamlessly woven into daily life in Southeast Calgary. The region borders Fish Creek Provincial Park, one of North America’s largest urban parks, and offers extensive access to the Bow River pathway system for walking, biking, and nature exploration. The Ralph Klein Park and Inglewood Bird Sanctuary provide further outdoor options, making it easy for residents to stay active and connected to Calgary’s natural environment.
Transportation in the southeast continues to improve with the expansion of the Stoney Trail ring road, which now allows for efficient movement around the city and easier access to the Deerfoot Trail, Calgary’s primary north-south route. While CTrain service is currently limited, future expansions—including the Green Line LRT—promise to enhance connectivity and public transit access across the region.
Southeast Calgary’s schools, both public and Catholic, have grown alongside its communities, with numerous new schools opening in recent years to meet rising demand. Community associations play a strong role in organizing local events, programs, and support services, reinforcing the family-friendly, connected nature of the region.
