Location and Accessibility
Varsity is located in the northwest region of Calgary. The community is bordered by:
- North: Nose Hill Drive NW
- South: Silver Springs Gate NW
- East: Crowchild Trail NW
- West: Bow River
Varsity is conveniently located between Crowchild Trail, Shaganappi Trail, and 16th Avenue NW (Trans-Canada Highway), making it easy to access downtown Calgary, which is about 10 kilometers away.
Education and Healthcare

Silver Springs is rich in outdoor amenities, with its prime location near the Bow River, natural parks, and recreational facilities.
Another reason Silver Springs real estate is so popular is the nearby neighbourhood skating rinks and outdoor swimming pools. There is an outdoor swimming pool right beside Silver Springs Boulevard, and the area also has wide open park land spaces. They connect to the Bow River recreational pathways for jogging and biking, and those pathways lead to Bowness Park as well as the downtown area. Bowness Park offers pretty lagoons used for ice skating in the winter and for paddle boating during the summer months.
Silver Springs residents have the ability to enjoy the Bowmont Natural Area, commonly referred to as The Ravine, which covers the entirety of the southern part of the community. This natural environment provides more than just an amazing view for the homes in the neighbourhood; it allows residents the chance to get outdoors and into the wilderness in the middle of one of Canada’s biggest cities. They can enjoy the many hiking and walking paths that take them along the water and towards Silver Springs Golf Club, the popular local golf course and country club that makes a scenic round of golf a real possibility for Silver Springs home owners.
The Silver Springs Community Association offers a lot of activities for residents who prefer a more active lifestyle. There are many organized sports to choose from and athletes can participate in hockey, baseball, softball, and soccer on appropriately-sized playing fields.

Silver Springs is just a stone’s throw from the Crowfoot Crossing shopping complex, anchored by Safeway, Co-op, Rona and Cineplex theatres.
There is a wide selection of restaurants, big box stores and retailers, plus a host of services including banking, dentists and medical clinics. There are two smaller plazas within Silver Springs offering video stores, convenience stores, a Shoppers Drug Mart, and pubs. Access to other shopping malls in the Northwest is a breeze via the LRT or Crowchild Trail, including Dalhousie Station, Northland Mall and Market Mall.
