Westgate is situated on a bluff on the west side of the Calgary and offers natural outdoor activities to residents.
As a community that is primarily residential, Westgate is still conveniently located close to the city's amenities for urban dwellers that like to stay a little away from the hustle and bustle.
Residents in Westgate have a many options when it comes to being active in the community including the Nicholls Family Library at Westbrook Station, the Shaganappi Golf Course and the nearby Killarney Pool.

While the area of Westgate contains few green spaces, it is situated just across from Edworthy Park, which is one of the city’s favourite parks.
