South Glenmore Park and the Glenmore Sailing Club are a short drive to the North.  Fish Creek Provincial Park and Heritage Park are also nearby. The Southland Leisure Center provides excellent opportunities for indoor leisure and family time.

There are two schools in the community, one in the public and one in the separate system.

Along with the many local shops throughout the community, there is a Co-Op Shopping Centre just north in Oakridge with a grocery store, gas station and liquor store all operated by the Co-Op. A medical clinic and dental clinic are located to the east and there are several restaurants in the area, including strEATS, Bobby’s Place, Sammy’s Pizza and Boston Pizza.
