The centerpiece of the community is the stunning man-made Chaparral Lake, which provides residents with year-round recreational opportunities.
Chaparral is one of the few neighbourhoods in Calgary that can boast about a substantial lake to supplement recreational activities for residents. The Sikome Aquatic Facility is a large man-made lake operated by the city out of Fish Creek Provincial Park that offers a great place to bring the family on hot summer days. Fish Creek Park is lined with many pedestrian paths, bike trails and off-trail hiking opportunities.
Blue Devil Golf Club runs along the river, providing a great way to experience the scenery while getting in some rounds of golf.
