Amenities
The centerpiece of the community is the stunning man-made Chaparral Lake, which provides residents with year-round recreational opportunities.
Chaparral is one of the few neighbourhoods in Calgary that can boast about a substantial lake to supplement recreational activities for residents. In addition to the lake and surrounding park, residents can enjoy use of boats, canoes, SUP, fishing and many programs offered by the Lake Chaparral Residents Association.
The Sikome Aquatic Facility is a large man-made lake operated by the city out of Fish Creek Provincial Park that offers a great place to bring the family on hot summer days. Fish Creek Park is lined with many pedestrian paths, bike trails and off-trail hiking opportunities.
Blue Devil Golf Club runs along the river, providing a great way to experience the scenery while getting in some rounds of golf.

Everything the residents of Lake Chaparral could need can be found in the Shawnessy Towne Centre.
Anchored by major tenants such as Co-op, Home Depot, Walmart and Canadian Tire, this giant retail complex boasts a myriad of shops, theatres, and services. There are a number of shopping plazas closer to home with convenience stores, gas stations, and cafes.
If you’re looking for a quick and convenient shopping trip, the Gates of Walden is a few minutes south with lots of retail, banking, Shoppers Drug Mart and a Save-On-Foods.
