Mission has a deep historical significance in Calgary. Originally settled as a French Catholic mission in the late 1800s, the area became known as the Mission District. Mission is located in the city centre region of Calgary. The community is bordered by:

- East:Â Elbow River
- West: 4th Street SW
Residents have the luxury of quick access to the Elbow River pathway, where you’ll find locals and visitors running, biking and walking along the river. Repsol Centre is a nearby, downtown is a quick 10-15 minute walk and the always buzzing 17th Avenue is only steps away.
